A Sea-horse Valentine!!!

Hello Friends,
With the start of February the blog land is buzzing with Valentine themes, so ,not be left behind I too came up with Valentine card. (There are few more to come in few days )

Well this one is not with the conventional red/pink colors, hearts or color scheme associated with Valentine's day. This one is with sea horses! I have always found them mystical and beautiful and somehow I wanted to make Valentine card using it. And one more reason that somewhere in my mind I was associating Valentine day with them was , I love the fact that male sea horses carry the eggs and not the female ones! That I find it so sweet and adorable to do for your partner. Just wondering if possible for humans also:)

Ok...enough of me turning philosophical, here is the card.....

The sea horse stamp is from my kids stamp set (He generously let's me use his whenever I need it :)) and the heart shaped sentiment and tiny heart bubbles are from SSS Heartfelt Notes. The waves were created by cutting vellum and then coloring and lining with silver stickle. Sea weeds and other details are hand drawn. I added in few details to the heart bubbles and sea horses using while gel pen.
I added a burlap border from Itsy Bitsy to finish off the card.

There were many firsts for me with this card. I used the mirror stamping technique for the sea horse and I think this would me my most layered card till date. Usually I stick to minimum layers.

So that's it from me today. I love to read your comments, please do leave some love.

Have a great week ahead!!!

Superman birthday invites / Push pull card

Hello Friends,
Today I am back to share some birthday invites I had made last month. One of my friend requested me to make some invites for her son's birthday. I had only 2 days at hand and wanted to make something special for the kid. One thing was the kid wanted only Superman themed birthday so the invites also had to adhere to the theme!

I was always fascinated to make push pull birthday invites and what better chance I would get. So I went ahead with that.

The colors of the paper used were red and blue. Logo was drawn by birthday boy's elder brother and he wrote the invite as well.

The push -pull mechanism

Here is the video showing the steps to make it, hope you enjoy it!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I love to read your comments.

Corner pop-up album/card

Hey there,
I was on a short and sweet vacation with my lovely friends so could not blog for few days. I have couple of projects to post this week. I am consciously  trying my hand on some new things and techniques, so one of the first things I made was a corner pop-up card. I just love them, the way they pop up is so much of fun!

I have also made a video of the process. Hope you like it!

Loose water coloring

Hi,
I did not intend to post back to back but somehow going ahead with it!  I watched a video by Kelly Latevola on loose water coloring and I was totally inspired by the card she made. Her card is incredible and will blow your mind. I had to try it, the results are not as fantastic as hers but I totally loved the process of being a little messy and playing with water colors, adding layers and have fun! The only tough part was waiting for the colors to dry, as I do not have a heating tool, I had to be very patient with letting the colors dry before going for another layer.

I like the way colors just flow out of the image. Added some details using white and black gel pen also created a shadow using the grey water color pencil. For the coloring I have used DI.
Stamps and sentiment are from Mudra Wild rose and Beautiful butterflies.

I would definitely recommend to try this and have fun!

Sentiments only

Hi friends,
Today I am popping up to share a very simple card using only sentiments. I have come across many tutorials in the past where you use sentiment stamps to make cards. It has been in my to-do list for a while so two days back I was experimenting with my stamps and inks, I thought why not give it a try!

I have used the "You can do anything" stamp set from SSS. Stamped the main sentiment using grape jelly memento dye ink and masked it, then added the background sentiment using London fog.
Later masked the area and created the border by directly applying the ink on the card.

I still wanted some other element to it but was totally clue less. The red flower was in my stash which I had made using the circle punch so went with it.

I hope you enjoyed being here and I would love to hear what you think about this card. Thank you and have a great day!
