BLOOM where you are planted

Happy New year!!! Well I am little late though :). After many days I have come with a card. Yesterday got some new stamp sets and was eager to get started with it.

I stamped few flowers and colored them using water color pencils, added few details with white gel pen and some glitter. From one side cut the edges and adhered on one side of a grey cardstock.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set(Mudra- Wild Rose), used a layer of vellum and foam tape to add the sentiment on the card.

Here are the pics....

Froggy Birthday Card

Hello,
Today I have a birthday card to share and some thing different that usual floral cards I post. I wanted to make some fun card but mostly what I have is floral stamps. However my son does have some aqua themed play stamps and he did not mind letting me use them. Using those I stamped and colored images and one of it I am using in this one.

I like that frog with a mischievous smile :).  I stamped it and colored with DI. The balloon, sentiment are from SSS. Finally assembled the card on colored card stock adding a DI colored yellow panel.

My son was happy I made something using his stuff. Hope you like it as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day ahead.

Slide Pop-up Card

Hi Friends,
For a change today I am sharing something different from the usual simple cards. This one is a slide pop-up card. Usually I stick to single layer or max 2 layer cards, but to enter into few of the challenges I went out of my way to try something new.

Here is the card.

The front is simple with bunch of colorful flowers(Mudra stamps) and burlap border(Itsy Bitsy). Then when we pull the ribbon, the surprise message underneath can be seen and the flowers pop up!
The sentiment(SSS) is stamped on smooshed cardstock.

Another look. In the slider card I made a pocket so that any gift card or cash can be given.

Hope you like it and I would love to get feedback on it. Have a happy Friday and happy weekend ahead!

Smooshed background card

Hello friends,

Today I plan to share a card with smooshed background. I had this piece of smooshed paper since ages, decided to convert into a card. I have also used patterned paper. I usually don't use PP since I always have this block whenever I take them out for making a card. So finally in a very small way I am using it.

I have kept the smoosh and the sentiment(from SSS) as the highlight and bordered it with PP(from Papericious)

That's it for today, thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day ahead.

I am putting this card in following challenges.

For my friend !!

Hey friends....hope you are enjoying your weekend!! I sneaked in some time today to create a CAS card today. I was able to put this together very quickly.

I am still in the "re-purposing the stamps" mode. So I used a tiny little heart stamp from Simon Says Stamp to create flowers in different colors. Then using black glitter pen added some finishing touches to it, also added black rhinestones to it. Then distressed the edges and finished it off with the sentiment from Inspired by Stamping.

"CASE"ing Therese Calvird

I was determined to CASE Therese's card on the TIME OUT challenges-Challenge#60. I am making a last minute entry into it.

This is her card, isn't it beautiful.

I was inspired by the stripped background, flowers and effective use of colors. Here is my version.....

I created the stripped background using border stamp with versamark ink and then used distress ink for the background. Stamped the flowers, used water color to add some color and fuzzy cut it. On the panel added the flowers, stamped the sentiment and few rhinestones. Finally adhered the panel on the colored cardstock.

Hopefully I did justice in CASE-ing Therese's card.

On another note, we went for lunch and there was this beautiful flower on the table, could not resist to take a picture of it. Signing off with this beautiful picture. Have a great day!!!

Colourful background card

Hello...welcome back to my blog. Today I am posting on a weekday, little unusual for me :)

I wanted to make use of stamps which I don't get to use much. There are quite a few which I have but not have used even once! So today's plan was use the unused.

I used a frame stamp to create the background using all the colors I possibly could use. Finished off with a simple sentiment.

Supplies used:
SSS "You can do anything" stamp set for the background
SSS "Big Birthday Wishes" for the sentiment
Ranger white embossing folder

CAS Birthday Card

Hi there....hope you are having a great weekend. I wanted to play along few of the challenges and made this card.

It's very simple one. I have used different distress colors to create the background using stamp. Then added a candle over it and put the sentiment. This was done very quick. I was very tempted to mount this on a embossed or a colored cardstock but wanted to keep all white and keeping focus on the design.

Supplies used:
Inspired by Stamping "Friends Forever" for background
Simon Says Stamp for candle and sentiment
Tim Holtz distress inks
Memento tuxedo black ink

Stencil cards

Hello friends, welcome back!! I have never posted back to back but this time I am surprising myself. This would be third consecutive day for my post!

Today I played along with my stencil and I loved it! First one came out so well that I made another one as well.

Here we go.....

First made the background with Tim Holtz distress ink and then using stencil made the butterfly and the leaves. Added sentiment from SSS You Can Do Anything stamp set.

This I mounted on a black card base and then on the distressed white card stock. Finished off with the twine. The black cardstock has a flap so that underneath message can be written.

Now for the second one.

This one is again using the same stencil but different images. Distressed the background before using the stencil. Used layer of black card stock and Papericious PP. Finished off with sentiment from SSS Big Birthday Wishes set and few pearls.
