Sweet Home

Today I have something else than card. I was inspired by Lizzy's take of the chalkboard challenge in Lessology. Here's my interpretation of the challenge.

I had this base from one of the cakes we had ordered. I knew I would use it some day and found it apt for this challenge. At one end the rim was slightly broken so I put some bunch of flowers on that side to hide it. Added pearl strip on the rim. Now I have the canvas to play ! I put on "Sweet Home" message using white color pencil. I made arrangement to keep this as stand alone or hang it as per the place I want to display. I put some of the family photos around the flowers. I removed few before taking snaps except that of my son's photo.

For a special day...

Hi there.... I am on a kind of card making spree and also many things. Really working hard to get into some of the challenges and hopefully I am able to achieve the target. So that means you will get to see lot of update on the blog in a short time :)

My recent purchase includes Mudra stamps and I am not getting enough of it, so again this card features the stamp.

I heat embossed the flower using white embossing powder and then colored using distress ink. Stamped the sentiment using Memento black ink. Mounted the panel on a black base. Scored some lines on the edges of black paper to give add some texture. Finally put it on the colored cardstock.

Black is beautiful

Hellooo friends, welcome back!! Today I am sharing a black beauty :). I started by stamping the lovely hibiscus stamp from Mudra on black paper and embossed using silver embossing powder. This looks lovely and shimmers in light. I had plans to use these for some other card but on the spur of moment I decided to give a try with black on black. I was not so confident but nevertheless went ahead.

I fuzzy cut the flowers and leaves and adhered using foam tape on black cardstock. Added a strip of patterned paper and few rhinestones to add some element.

So this is how it looks.

A closer look. Believe me it looks best when it shimmers

Supplies used:
Mudra Stamp for flower

No Stamp Card

Hello everyone.....welcome back to my blog. I had been on a break from the craft and just now I checked, my last post was over a month back!!! Didn't plan such a long break but happy to get back :)

Today's card was not planned or thought about, but kind of an impromptu card. I digged into my stash and found this piece of paper on which I had used stencil for designing. I had sprinkled few colors on white background and used stencil to create those cute roses. It was actually a bigger piece of paper but the other part was already messed up so I cut just a strip out of it. Mounted it on the bright background and added black pearl strip at the edge. I was in no mood for stamps today so used the alphabet stickers for putting up the sentiment.

Exploding Box

Hi...welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing an explosion box, kept is very simple as it is my first attempt. I thoroughly enjoyed making it!

This is how it looks from outside, kept it subdued and not too much focus so that when it explodes it is a pleasant surprise. Lid is covered with PP from Papericious. For the box added small golden flower at all four ends.

Now how it explodes

Flap-1: Stamp from "Big Birthday Wishes" from Simon Says Stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Kept this simple by adding just 2 red stones, as the sentiment is the focus

Flap 2: Again the sentiment and candles from "Big Birthday Wishes" from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the candles in different distress ink from Tim Holtz Kit 1and 2. Sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink then adhered it using foam stick.

Flap 3: Balloons from....you can guess.............. again Big Birthday Wishes stamp set. Stamped those in different distress ink from Tim Holtz Kit 1and 2, fuzzy cut them and then using foam sticker put it there. Used a glitter pen to draw those strings.

Flap 4: I was not able to decide what should go here, then went on to create "Happy Birthday" banner using colored paper and writing on it using glitter pen. Added a rose sticker.

Center: It's bunch of felt roses with tiny buds to go with it.
