Twist and Pop-up Card

After long time I tried my hand to create a card other than the normal folded cards. I followed the instructions as per the video here.

I have used Papericious "Often" and "Patterned" collection. Flowers are from Halak Shah.

I wish to enter into

Papericious December Moodboard challenge: I was inspired by lot of elements from the moodboard. Starting with the subdued colors and right amount of color pop, flowers, sequins.

CASE-ing Joyce

Hello friends, I am back with a card. This has been sitting with me for couple of weeks but I was not able to post it. Making a last minute entry in HLS November CASE the designer challenge.

The card was made keeping the gorgeous card created by Joyce. You can see the beauty below.

I was inspired by the selective coloring of the card.  And here is my version of it.

I was not too happy with the card but nevertheless loved coloring it. Used the water color pencils for the color. I did not use any sentiment as wanted to keep options open for all occasions :)

Have a great day !

Cardboard Gift Box

Hey friends it's been ages I did not have any post. Kind of unplanned break ! Initially it was due to health issues in family and later with all the festivities around did not get any chance to write a post. I was working on few crafts though but did not post them, so I have a long list craft to be shared. You will quite a few posts in coming days.

Well starting with the latest I have created.

This was fun creating as I was trying to teach my son how to create a box from cardboard. Thought will create just the box and leave it but actually went on to give it finishing!

I had 1 piece of rectangular cardboard from some clothing we recently got. I followed a tutorial (here) to create the box which is super easy. Once done, used PP to cover it. Used distress ink over the edges and some glitter on the surface. Added few pearls and created flower using few elements.
For the inside, colored it brown.

Inside look.

I don't know what to call the petals which is used to create the flower. I had bought if long back but never used it. It reflects different colors red/pink, orange, golden with different light intensity. One of the snap to show how the color changes.

Would love to share for Lessology - Let's get organized challenge (I have recycled the dress cardboard here)

One style three cards

Hey friends hope you are having a great weekend. Days are really hectic for me but somehow sneaking in some time for craft. This is the first post of the day and I will follow up with another.

Initially I planned to make just one card but ended up making 3 instead! These were super easy and super fun. I started by making stripes of different color using the DI. Used them directly and no brush. I  used different colors for different panels ad made the below cards.

For the above card pasted the panel vertically and added flower ribbon (thanks to Halak) and a tiny patterned strip.

Would like to put this card in following challenges.

The second card is just the panel and the die cut (again thanks to Halak and PABD) mounted on the black card base.

Easy peasy cards :)

Hello....welcome back to my blog. This weekend I was able to create few cards but was not able to share. These are very easy cards and I got them done in 5 minutes each.

This is the first card. Created the branch by stamping leaves and creating the branch using watercolor pencil. Added the shimmering red felt strip. I was no able to capture the glitter of the strip but it looks great in real, bright red and shimmering.

Well I do not have any stamp which is a leaf/flower shaped. Most of you mush have guessed how did I make it :). I have simply used the Memento tuxedo black dew drop ink pad and directly used on the paper to create these patterns.

The second one is on the same lines but a different design. Added small golden flowers in between the flower centers. Then golden washi tape at the bottom.

A floral, A Colorful and A cute card

Hey there.....hope you are having a  great weekend. I have become quite irregular to post, owing to some hectic timing but I am enjoying coloring in some spare time. I was not able to put cards but nevertheless relaxed by coloring. But today I am back again with not one but 3 cards!

Without wasting time sharing the cards

1- This one is a floral card again. I love this Mudra stamp flower :). I cannot resist using it. I had colored lot of them using watercolor pencil, you will keep seeing these in different forms.  I fuzzy cut the flowers to put this card.
Added those dots using the water color pencil and finished off with few sequins(Thanks to Coralynn for these lovely sequins).
I decided against adding a sentiment, since wanted to use the card based on occasion.

2- The second card is made using brush stroke stamp. I wanted to experiment using this stamp and I was really happy with the result. Masked the small portion and started the stamping using different colors of DI. While inking the stamp made sure it gives some texture by keeping the inking uneven.

Have a look.

And to go with there theme of "Blue" this month made this card.

Birthday cards!!

Hello friends...hope you had a great weekend. Today I am quickly sharing 2 cards which I made few days back.

For first card created a wreath of flowers with masking, colored then using distress ink. Then to add some dimension I trimmed the panel on two sides and fussy cut the flower edges. Next layer of card is created with sponging through stencil. Finally mounted this on colored card stock.

Post is not over yet ! Here is the second card. This one is a no fuss card. I stamped the image, then masked it and sponged the distress ink on the border. Then sprinkled some water so that it gives a beautiful background after reacting with water. Finishes off with embossed sentiment on black paper.

The card was done quick but I had to struggle a lot to get the exact color on the picture. This is peacock feather color but somehow it looks more blue in photo than in real :(

Tried taking photo with different intensity of light but still was not successful.

For my friend !!

Hey friends....hope you are enjoying your weekend!! I sneaked in some time today to create a CAS card today. I was able to put this together very quickly.

I am still in the "re-purposing the stamps" mode. So I used a tiny little heart stamp from Simon Says Stamp to create flowers in different colors. Then using black glitter pen added some finishing touches to it, also added black rhinestones to it. Then distressed the edges and finished it off with the sentiment from Inspired by Stamping.

A close up with flash to show the subtle glitter
