Exploding Box

Hi...welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing an explosion box, kept is very simple as it is my first attempt. I thoroughly enjoyed making it!

This is how it looks from outside, kept it subdued and not too much focus so that when it explodes it is a pleasant surprise. Lid is covered with PP from Papericious. For the box added small golden flower at all four ends.

Now how it explodes

Flap-1: Stamp from "Big Birthday Wishes" from Simon Says Stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Kept this simple by adding just 2 red stones, as the sentiment is the focus

Flap 2: Again the sentiment and candles from "Big Birthday Wishes" from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the candles in different distress ink from Tim Holtz Kit 1and 2. Sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink then adhered it using foam stick.

Flap 3: Balloons from....you can guess.............. again Big Birthday Wishes stamp set. Stamped those in different distress ink from Tim Holtz Kit 1and 2, fuzzy cut them and then using foam sticker put it there. Used a glitter pen to draw those strings.

Flap 4: I was not able to decide what should go here, then went on to create "Happy Birthday" banner using colored paper and writing on it using glitter pen. Added a rose sticker.

Center: It's bunch of felt roses with tiny buds to go with it.

All Smiles Inside!!

Hey friends...hope you are having a great weekend. We have long weekend here, I was planning to work on lots of project but seems time is falling short for me! So many things to attend and take care of, I would have loved a lazy weekend but anyhow I did manage to create some cards.

I have been hoarding some of the Pink Fresh Studio stuff which I received some time back as a part of card kit. I would always save them for something good and never use them. Finally when Winne & Walter is featuring their products, I had to use them. That too I am already late, sneaking my entry in the last day.

There are so many inspirations, you can hop on to their blog and check. I decided to case Mayuri's Card. I loved the sketch and pop of colors.

I decided to give the rub-on a try which is a first for me, I have some lovely birthday themed rub-on.  So this card is only about rub-on. First I put the pattern in black and white paper, used the neon orange gift rub-on and the "All Simles inside" along with the neon arrows to match with it. On the black patch added golden flowers rub-on along with "lovely day.." sentiment.
Finally mounted it on a peach card stock to match with the orange used in the card.

I hope you like it, would love to know you feedback on it.

Supplies Used:

Chrysanthemum

Welcome to my blog.

It's a CAS card today. This was made very quickly but I did spend some time thinking over how to use the flower in the card!
I have a chrysanthemum stencil which I used to outline on a black paper, then using water color pencil did some shading. After that I was totally confused, how to use this panel. Finally I mounted this on a bright pink card stock and added glitter foam strip at the top and bottom layer.

I liked how it turned out but still felt something is missing, finally giving up on the thought of adding any other element.
