Jewellery Box/ Recycle box

Hello friends,
Hope you are having a great weekend.

I am back again with a recycling project using a box. I am hoarding many boxes and now I am trying to put them for proper use. This time too I was tempted to make it a gift box but then decided to make something different.

It's a very simple way to convert any box to a jewellery, what I have done is, based on the measurement of the box decided how many big and small sections I can make. Then created those many boxes and decorated them. Then did some decoration and it is done.

You can see the video here.

Thanks for stopping by and spending time on my blog. I would love to read your comments.

Happpy Saturday!!

Hello friends.....happy Saturday. Hope you have a great start to weekend. I have been trying to post since a long time but somehow or the other it kept on pushing. I was away for quite some time from the blogland however I was trying some new things which kept me busy. I will share the details subsequently.

Recently I was going through some of the cards I have at hand and realized I have not posted them at all !!! So today I am doing for the few.

The first one....I like this colorful card. Used the mini DI pad and made those circles and added swirls using the black gel pen. The sentiment is a sticker which I layered using cardstock and made it pop using foam tape.

The second one was a experiment for me. I drew the design on vellum and colored using brush pen and fuzzy cut it. Chose glitter pen to outline...you can see the shimmer is some parts. I did feel it is still lacking something but was notable to decide :(.

The third one..this one is using only PP and die cut and no ink or stamp, simple and quick

That's all for now ....thanks for visiting and spending time on my blog. Have a great day ahead.

Ogee pattern Card

Hey friends,
Today I wanted to share 2 cards made by pattern paper I had created. When I made it, I was not sure if I would use it for card but it was so much fun making it using water colors. Minimum supply and maximum pleasure I would say :)

Well I was inspired by the Sea Lemon video (Ogee pattern), Jennifer teaches such easy ways to make beautiful patterns and many more DIYs.

I had made the design on A4 size paper, so for the card I cut it as per the size required and was able to make 2 of them.

Here you go.......

A closer look....

I was able to put the cards quickly, since I had all the things handy. As you can see on one card I emphasized on green and on the other with blue by adding some embellishments essentially ribbon, satin rose and colored rhinestones.

Birthday sentiment is from Itsy Bitsy and Friendship sentiment from Inspired By Stamping.

I enjoyed the process of coloring, hope you too loved it. Please do post your feedback I love to read them.

Thanks have a nice day!

Froggy Birthday Card

Hello,
Today I have a birthday card to share and some thing different that usual floral cards I post. I wanted to make some fun card but mostly what I have is floral stamps. However my son does have some aqua themed play stamps and he did not mind letting me use them. Using those I stamped and colored images and one of it I am using in this one.

I like that frog with a mischievous smile :).  I stamped it and colored with DI. The balloon, sentiment are from SSS. Finally assembled the card on colored card stock adding a DI colored yellow panel.

My son was happy I made something using his stuff. Hope you like it as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day ahead.

Freehand drawing + "Love is sweet" card

Hello friends,
Hope you are having a great start to the week. My craze for drawing has still not seized but I am not complaining :) , I am just loving it. So today again I am sharing a card for which I did some freehand drawing and then made it into a card.

Special thing was, this is the first card which my hubby said he liked the most. I was over the moon !!!!

Here it goes...

I did not capture that well on camera, but it looks much better in person. I just used my black pen to make the design first and colored it using DI. I wanted a small sentiment for this card so went with the one from SSS( Should have done 1 more layer of stamping, I stopped at 2 :( ). Added colored cardstock before mounting it to finish the card.

Another doodle ...

Hey there, hope you are having a good start for the week. I am still hooked on to doodling and converting them into cards. So today again I am sharing one of the designs I made. Last one I had kept uncolored so this time I thought about trying to color it and I enjoyed every bit of it.

So here's the card.

I have used DI to color and the sentiment and the banner design is from Inspired by Stamping.
For the colors I was inspired by the Cupcake Inspiration challenge. I totally love that combo.

Doodle + Card

Hi folks, happy Friday! It's been quite some time I did not post, thanks to some issues with my laptop. I am trying to workaround that and sneak in few of the posts. Meanwhile I am spending time in doing some coloring, recycling and some projects apart from cards, I will post those soon.

For now, a quick card which I made from one of the doodles element I had created.

I had doodles this flower on a white cardstock, added the rainbow colors at the background using brush pen and some masking. Added sentiment( from IBS) at the bottom.

Please share your feedback, it means a lot. Have a great weekend ahead!

Blogger Recognition Award

Hi friends,
I am excited to share that I have been nominated by Sharada from Happy Momentzz for the Blog Recognition Award. Thank you Sharada!! She blogs about her crafting experiences and there are loads of inspirations. You should definitely check her blog!

When another blogger nominates you for this award, there are a few steps that you need to take to accept:
  • Thank the nominating blogger
  • Write a post about the award
  • Share a story of how and why you started your blog
  • Offer at least two pieces of advice for new bloggers
  • Pass on the nomination to another 15 bloggers
  • Respond to the nominating blogger with a link to this post on their blog
My story....

Now the story on how did I start my blog. Well I was always fascinated by craft and during school days I would draw and paint a lot, experiment with different things including crochet, cross stitch, glass painting, sand art etc. This was all thanks to my mother who herself is a very quick learner and her interests rubbed on to me. However somewhere down the line I lost touch as I got busy with education and job. Few years back I again started crafting on insistence of my friends I started this blog. I really feel it was one of the best things as I got to know so many lovely people and a whole universe of creativity.

Advice....

Blogging is a serious business. There are times I do not post for weeks together due to lulls or any personal reasons but I realize what I miss when I do regular posts. I feel so happy, creative and I think it also helps to become a better person!
So I would definitely suggest to have regular posts. (Which I am trying to do as well :P)

Photography skills are definitely a add on. Again this one is something I am trying to improve upon. But photographs are a very important part of the blog so these have to be excellent.

Other awesome bloggers

It is difficult to list only a few bloggers, but below are some of the awesome ones I have come across.

Slide Pop-up Card

Hi Friends,
For a change today I am sharing something different from the usual simple cards. This one is a slide pop-up card. Usually I stick to single layer or max 2 layer cards, but to enter into few of the challenges I went out of my way to try something new.

Here is the card.

The front is simple with bunch of colorful flowers(Mudra stamps) and burlap border(Itsy Bitsy). Then when we pull the ribbon, the surprise message underneath can be seen and the flowers pop up!
The sentiment(SSS) is stamped on smooshed cardstock.

Another look. In the slider card I made a pocket so that any gift card or cash can be given.

Hope you like it and I would love to get feedback on it. Have a happy Friday and happy weekend ahead!

I am sharing the card in following challenges.

Smooshed background card

Hello friends,

Today I plan to share a card with smooshed background. I had this piece of smooshed paper since ages, decided to convert into a card. I have also used patterned paper. I usually don't use PP since I always have this block whenever I take them out for making a card. So finally in a very small way I am using it.

I have kept the smoosh and the sentiment(from SSS) as the highlight and bordered it with PP(from Papericious)

That's it for today, thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day ahead.

I am putting this card in following challenges.
